In their final tune-up scrimmage before the regular season starts on Saturday, SPS headed to a turf complex in Massachusetts to beat the snow and take on Exeter. St. Paul's played well, got lots of players into the game, but couldn't keep up with Exeter and their two strong pitchers and fell 10-4 on Wednesday.
Phillips Exeter jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Owen Tahnk singled, scoring one run, Jake Fredericks doubled, scoring one run, and Charlie Dick singled, scoring two runs.
Exeter added one run in the third. Roger Davis hit into a fielder's choice, making the score 5-2.
Luke Newhall stepped on the mound first for St.Paul's Baseball. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and five runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking three. Tank started on the bump for PEA. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and three runs over two innings, striking out six and walking three.

Harry Dermody, and Theo Schneible each collected one hit for St. Paul's. Schneible led St. Paul's with two runs batted in going 1-for-3 on the day.
St. Paul's turned two double plays in the game.
Due to the ground conditions in Concord, SPS will travel to Haverhill High School aon Saturday to be the home team vs. Pingree in the season opener.
