What is athletic training and who are athletic trainers?
Athletic Training Clinics:
St. Paul’s School Athletic Trainers maintain four athletic health care facilities on campus. The main clinic is located on the first floor of the Athletic & Fitness Center. Satellite athletic training clinics are located at the Blass Club House, Hockey Center, and the Bogle-Lechner Turf.
Services Include:
• Risk Reduction, Wellness and Health Literacy
• Assessment, Evaluation and Diagnosis
• Critical Incident Management
• Therapeutic Intervention
• Healthcare Administration and Professional Responsibility
Modalities Provided:
• Ice
• Heat
• Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM)
• Electrical Stimulation
• Ultrasound
Athletic Training Visiting Team Info:
All visiting teams are provided:
• Water on team benches
• Ice chest with ice bags available at the game
• Access to Athletic Trainers for pre-game taping and acute injury evaluation
Athletic Trainers attending contests with their team(s) should contact St. Paul’s School Athletic Trainers to coordinate needs and resources.
Home varsity and junior varsity football games will have physician and/or advanced practitioner (e.g., APRN, PA-C) coverage available.
Off-Campus Orthopaedic Clinics:
St. Paul’s School Athletic Trainers facilitate regularly scheduled off-campus orthopaedic clinics with Concord Orthopaedics for students needing additional evaluation of orthopaedic injuries. These clinics generally occur on Monday and Thursday mornings while school is in session. Learn more about Concord Orthopaedics.
St. Paul’s School Athletic Trainers also help to arrange referrals and appointments with other relevant providers, including physical therapy, imaging, and surgeries.
