Sports Performance

Sports Performance at St. Paul’s School

Our Sports Performance program is designed to help student-athletes develop strength, speed, resilience, and confidence—both in competition and in everyday life. Through a blend of expert coaching, customized training, and education on recovery and injury prevention, we empower Pelicans to train smarter, move better, and perform at their best.

Team Training

Each week, SPS varsity teams train with our strength and performance coaches. These sessions are built to:

  • Improve strength, flexibility, and movement efficiency
  • Teach recovery techniques for enhanced performance and injury prevention
  • Foster a shared culture of accountability, resilience, and peak performance

In addition, individual athletes may request personalized in-season programs tailored to their specific needs—whether that’s building power, addressing an imbalance, or recovering from injury.

Strength & Conditioning Program

Offered each term as an afternoon athletics option, this program is open to all levels—from students learning how to train for the first time to varsity athletes preparing for collegiate competition.

  • Schedule: Four afternoons per week (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri)
  • Focus Areas: Functional training, mobility, flexibility, strength, power, and agility
  • Individualization: Every participant receives a customized workout program
  • Coaching: Students work closely with SPS strength and performance staff for hands-on guidance

The goal is not only to build physical capacity, but also to teach students how to train intelligently, laying the foundation for lifelong fitness and success.
