Softball Rolls Past Worcester

In a commanding performance, St. Paul's School triumphed over Worcester Academy with a resounding 13-0 victory on Saturday.

The game started strong for St. Paul's in the bottom of the first inning. Charlotte Voge's double brought in the first run, and Brooklyn Godisak followed with a single that drove in two more runs, setting the tone for the match.

The momentum continued in the second inning as St. Paul's piled on four additional runs. Isabella Martinez doubled to bring a run home, Jade Hill blasted a two-run homer to center field, and Voge capped the inning with a solo homer to left field.

Dakota Martinez extended the lead in the third inning with a solo home run to right field, solidifying St. Paul's dominance.

The team's scoring spree didn't let up, adding five more runs in the fourth inning on six hits. Morgan Barbossa's double scored two runs, while Isabella Martinez contributed with a single and a double to drive in three more runs.

Heather Cotter was stellar on the mound for St. Paul's, allowing just two hits and no runs over three innings, striking out six. Sophie U of Worcester Academy absorbed the loss, surrendering eight runs in three innings. Samantha Lynch provided effective relief for St. Paul's, striking out three in a hitless inning.

St. Paul's showcased their offensive depth, amassing 14 hits. Cotter, leading off, went three-for-four, and Martinez, playing center field, had a day with three RBIs on two hits. Hill, Martinez, and Voge also had multiple hits. Defensively, the team was flawless, with Hill notably active in the field.
