SPS Tops Exeter

St. Paul's easily dispatched Phillips Exeter Academy on Tuesday 12-2.

St. Paul's got on the board in the top of the first inning after Jade Hill homered to center field, scoring three runs, Brooklyn Godisak doubled, scoring one run, Alison Jankowski singled, scoring one run, and Heather Cotter singled, scoring one run.

St. Paul's added one run in the second. Dakota Martinez doubled, making the score 7-0.

St. Paul's scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Charlotte Voge doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Jankowski grounded out, scoring one run, and Violet Eaton singled, scoring one run.

Cotter earned the win for St. Paul's. They allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. H Alden took the loss for Phillips Exeter Academy. The starting pitcher went four innings, allowing 12 runs (nine earned) on 14 hits, striking out four and walking two.

St. Paul's piled up 14 hits in the game. Hill drove the middle of the lineup, leading St. Paul's with three runs batted in. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Isabella Martinez, Cotter, Martinez, Eaton, and Morgan Barbossa each collected two hits for St. Paul's. Martinez stole two bases. St. Paul's were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Samantha Lynch made the most plays with five.

R Cici seized on their opportunities, leading Phillips Exeter Academy with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day.
