Pitching Shines as St. Paul's Edges Kimball Union Academy, 1-0

In a true pitchers' duel, St. Paul's edged out Kimball Union Academy Varsity Wildcats 1-0 on Friday behind strong performances on the mound.

Eoin Sheehy was outstanding for St. Paul's, throwing six shutout innings while allowing just five hits, striking out four, and walking two. He recorded 18 outs before handing things over to the bullpen.

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth when Blake Truchon drew a bases-loaded walk to push across the game's only run.

Sheehy earned the win, while Ben Constantine took the loss for Kimball Union. Constantine surrendered one run without allowing a hit, striking out two and walking three in two-thirds of an inning. Starter Aidan Gracey was impressive for Kimball Union as well, pitching four scoreless innings with nine strikeouts, two hits allowed, and just one walk.

Offensively, Truchon led St. Paul's with an RBI, while Sheehy and Evan Fleming each tallied a hit. The Big Red were aggressive on the bases, stealing six bases, including two by Truchon. Defensively, St. Paul's played a clean game and turned one double play.

Gracey also led Kimball Union at the plate, going 2-for-3.

St. Paul's will return to action at home on Saturday against New Hampton School.
