SPS Beats Proctor in 3/4 Lakes Region Playoff Game

St. Paul's were victorious against Proctor Academy 8-4 on Friday.

Proctor Academy got on the board in the first inning after Ian Rosenshine singled, scoring one run.

Proctor Academy added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Aidan Myers singled to center field, and Rosenshine grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.

St. Paul's captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third when Gavin Code hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Eoin Sheehy singled, scoring one run, and Theo Schneible tripled, scoring two runs.

Evan Fleming earned the win for St. Paul's. The righty surrendered six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three and walking none. Joe Neilon took the loss for Proctor Academy. The pitcher went three innings, giving up four runs on two hits, striking out none and walking one. Carter Corbett tossed two innings of no-run ball for St. Paul's in relief. The lefty allowed one hit, striking out two and walking one.

Sheehy and Schneible were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for St. Paul's while hitting back-to-back. Sheehy and Schneible were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for St. Paul's. St. Paul's ran wild on the base paths, piling up five stolen bases for the game.

Proctor Academy collected nine hits in the game. Rosenshine provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Proctor Academy with two runs batted in. The center fielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Neilon led Proctor Academy with three hits in four at bats. Myers collected two hits for Proctor Academy in three at bats.

Next up for St. Paul's is a game against Hamden Hall Country Day on Monday in the Small Schools Tournament at the University of Saint Joseph.
