The SPS Varsity Field Hockey team played Rivers on Wednesday in a back and forth game of strength on both sides. Two early goals set St. Paul's up as the underdog. Chelsea Bell '26 answered when she popped in the ball on the post, crossed by co-captain Bella Perry '25 on a penalty corner. Caroline Humber '25 and Erin Flaherty '27 showed their wheels and tenacity on the front line. Co-captain Parker Hanson '25 and Thayer Demers '26 held down the defense. The final half of the game exhibited The Big Red's fitness and unwavering spirit with dominating play, yet they were unable to tie it up, leaving the game 2-1. Goalkeeper Elizabeth Johnson '25 saved key shots and had an impactful vocal presence in net. SPS plays NMH at home on Saturday.
