Big Red Dive into History: St. Paul's School Swim Team Makes Its Debut

For the first time in its storied history, St. Paul's School is making waves with the creation of its inaugural swim team. The new program, which has already sparked excitement within the community, takes to the pool today at the prestigious Andover Invitational, marking the beginning of what promises to be a landmark season.

The formation of the swim team is a response to growing student interest in aquatics and reflects the school's commitment to broadening its athletic offerings. Under the guidance of Head Coach Mike Carroll, an experienced swimming mentor with a history of leading competitive teams, the swimmers have been training intensively in preparation for their debut.

"We're thrilled to finally offer a swimming program that matches the passion and talent of our students," Coach Carroll shared. "This is a historic moment for St. Paul's, and we're looking forward to seeing the team compete and grow."

The Andover Invitational will serve as a rigorous first test for the Big Red swimmers, with competition expected to include powerhouse programs from across New England. Despite the challenges ahead, the team is entering the season with a mix of optimism and determination.

"This team has brought together a community of students who share a love for the water," said team captain Mily Kirkman '25. "We're ready to set the tone for the future of swimming at St. Paul's and show what we can do."

The Big Red swim team's introduction underscores the school's emphasis on developing well-rounded students and fostering a sense of camaraderie through sports. With a mix of seasoned swimmers and newcomers eager to make a splash, this season is sure to lay a strong foundation for a new era in St. Paul's athletics.
