The Big Red traveled to Hamilton, Massachusetts for another chilly spring game. The Pingree Highlanders came out strong and scored 3 goals to start the game. The Big Red was held scoreless until 1:08 left in the first quarter when Amelia Shair '25 rolled the crease and scored off a pass from Sam Moyer '24. Pingree notched one more goal with 18 seconds left in the quarter to take a 4-1 lead.

The second quarter started similarly to the first. Pingree scored 3 more goals to go up 7-1 over the Big Red. With about 2 minutes left in the half, Hadley Cepiel '24 scored on a free position shot. 36 seconds later Meg Bohan '25 scored off a pass from Hadley Cepiel '24. Pingree scored one more goal as time expired and the Big Red headed into the half, down 3-8. 

Freshman Chandler Curtis '27 FOGO'ed for the Big Red and neutralized Pingree's potent draw. This gave the Big Red the spark they needed to attempt a comeback. SPS scored 4 goals in the third, holding Pingree to 2. Sam Moyer '24 and Gretta White '25 scored two goals each to pull the Big Red within 3 heading into the final 12 minutes of the game. Ali Cabot '25 challenged from the top right, sinking a beautiful left-handed shot in the first minute of the fourth and Hadley Cepiel '24 scored her second goal of the game to pull the Big Red within 1.

Pingree scored the next 2 goals to go back up by 3 with 2 minutes left in the game. The Big Red hoped to pull off the dramatic comeback, but fell short, notching only one more goal in the game with 13 seconds left. Hadley Cepiel '24 scored her third goal of the game off an assist from Parker Hansen '25. The final score was 10-12. The Big Red are back at home on Saturday against Dexter Southfield.
