Luke Newhall drove in five runs on two hits to lead St. Paul's past Tilton School 15-5 on Saturday. Newhall doubled in the second scoring two, hit a home run to left field in the third scoring two, and hit a sacrifice fly in the first scoring one.
St. Paul's got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Eoin Sheehy walked, Newhall hit a sacrifice fly, and Connor Pollard hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
St. Paul's added five more runs in the bottom of the third inning on three hits. Sullivan grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Sheehy singled, scoring one run, and Newhall homered to left field, scoring two runs. Tilton School scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Bryce Turmel was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Gabe Semel drew a walk, scoring one run, Jayden Pratt was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Anthony Wright singled, scoring one run, and Marty Pierce singled, scoring one run.
Sheehy earned the win for St. Paul's. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and five runs over four innings, striking out two and walking three. Wright took the loss for Tilton School. They went three innings, surrendering 13 runs (nine earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking three. Quinn Brandell appeared in relief for St. Paul's.
Newhall, Sullivan, and Sheehy each collected two hits for St. Paul's. St. Paul's had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. St. Paul's stole four bases in the game. St. Paul's turned one double play in the game.
Turmel led Tilton School with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. They went 1-for-2 on the day. Ryan Turmel, Pierce, and Anthony Pizzimenti each collected two hits for Tilton School.
