SPS Girls' Lacrosse started the season with a victory on the road against Thayer Academy. 5th former Parker Hansen scored the first goal of the season off a pass from senior captain Sam Moyer. After 5th former
Gretta White tied the game at 2-2 on a free position, Thayer Academy scored 3 straight goals in the second quarter, putting SPS down 2-5.
Captain Sam Moyer scored her first of 2 goals before the half and pulled the Big Red within 2. Thayer Academy intercepted a clear with about four and a half minutes left in the third quarter and scored. Sam Moyer,
Eliza Ekstrand, and Maddie Chang scored one goal each to tie the game 6-6 at the end of the third quarter.
Thayer scored one more goal two and a half minutes into the fourth quarter to go ahead by one. The Big Red then scored 7 unanswered goals in the fourth to go ahead and win by a score of 13-7.

With four groundballs, two draw controls, and 2 assists in the game, 5th form midfielder Ali Cabot was the spark the Big Red needed to dig deep and bring home the victory.
