The Big Red hosted the Hoggers of NMH on beautiful fall afternoon in Millville.  The first half saw solid play from the boys in Red.  Their shape forced NMH to play long balls to create their chances and Leo Colinet '27 was strong and active in the SPS goal. The lone time the Big Red allowed any space at the top of the box they were punished with a brilliant strike to the upper ninety by the NMH striker to give the Hoggers the lead that they would not relinquish.  SPS was better keeping the ball and creating attacks when they played the ball wide as Will Iller '26 and Alexander de Burgh Codrington '28 found space.  Several dangerous free kicks into the box by Carter Corbett '25 challenged the NMH keeper but the score ended with the Big Red down two at the half.
 
Hunter Morton '26 came on in the second half to protect the net and was confident with his command of the defense in front of him.  Backs Corbett, Blake Truchon '26, Pat Ricca '26, Gavin Nestler '25, AJ Zoltowski '27 and Luka Clark '25 for their play all afternoon.  Special kudos to Clark for his consistency throughout the contest.  Despite going down 3 – nil with 12 minutes to play, the Big Red pushed forward.  Pat Cooley '25 struck a beautiful free kick form 20 yards out only to see a spectacular near post save by the NMH keeper.  Moments later a dangerous Cooley corner kick skimmed off Iller's head where Nestler found a way to keep the ball alive and striker Teddy Sulger '27 came within inches of finishing.  With less than a minute to play 3^rdformer Noah Levy '28 worked to track down a through ball and was fouled in the box.  It was Cooley who coolly slotted the ball home from the spot to make it a 3 – 1 game. 
 
The Big Red is back on the road on Monday as they travel south to the St. Sebastian's School in Needham, MA.  The Arrows are a strong side which will be another positive challenge for SPS.  Hope you can come support the squad.
