On a blustery, cold day, SPS GXC traveled to nearby Merrimack Valley for the Capital Area Invitational, a race of Concord area high schools. The JV girls started off the competition in a combined race at 3:30. The girls ran in two tight packs and won the JV girls race. Rita Krenkel led the team in a season's best. She was followed closely by Poppy Hamilton who also ran a season's best.
Madison Min rounded out the first pack. Patalie Vipraskit led the second pack, and was closely followed by Lu Rodriguez, Sophia Zhang, and Katie Ragsdale (who ran a new PB!) all within seconds of each other. The varsity team was the last team to race on the day.
Aedyn Kourakos finished second overall almost matching her PR from earlier in the week. In second for SPS was Brooks Boyd, who ran a strategic finish, out sprinting her competitor from Hopkinton.
Allison Min, with a new PB, and Mack Barrette, running her fastest time of the season, were next across the line for SPS. Minnow Brown and
Clara Tcherepnin rounded out the top 7 for St. Paul's. Next up the team takes on Exeter and Winsor at Exeter this Saturday.
