The St. Paul's Boys JV Squash team wrapped up a competitive and spirited 2024–25 season, showcasing impressive depth, resilience, and growth throughout the winter. Finishing with an outstanding
8-3 record, the Pelicans proved themselves as a tough opponent across a diverse slate of matches.
The season kicked off in early December, but an away match at St. George's was unfortunately canceled. The team's first contest came on home turf against Brooks School on December 11, where St. Paul's came out strong with a dominant
7-0 sweep—a perfect way to start the year.
After the winter break, the team faced a tough challenge against a skilled Exeter squad on January 15, falling
0-7. However, they quickly bounced back with a convincing
7-0 victory on the road at Milton Academy just three days later, showing their ability to regroup and perform.
Momentum built as they returned home to defeat Groton
6-1, followed by a thrilling
4-3 win against Choate Rosemary Hall. The tight victory was a testament to the team's grit under pressure.
A narrow
3-4 loss at Andover on January 29 served as a mid-season gut check, but the squad responded with a solid
5-2 win over Belmont Hill on February 7, reinforcing their position as one of the top JV teams in the region.
A tough road match against Fessenden on February 12 resulted in another close
3-4 loss, but the team bounced back in spectacular fashion during a doubleheader on February 19. They notched back-to-back
5-2 victories over both SquashBusters and Fessenden, this time at home.
The regular season closed with a nail-biter against Eaglebrook on February 22. In a dramatic finish, St. Paul's edged out a
5-4 win, sealing the season with a statement victory and highlighting the team's resilience in close contests.
