SPS edges Choate

St. Paul's defeated Choate Rosemary Hall 4-3 on Saturday at Andover.

St. Paul's were the first to get on the board in the second when Morgan Barbossa singled, scoring one run.

G Segui singled down the right field line, which helped Choate Rosemary Hall tie the game at one in the top of the third.

Choate Rosemary Hall took the lead in the top of the eighth. M Seiden doubled, scoring one run, to give Choate Rosemary Hall the advantage, 2-1.

Barbossa singled to center field following a 11-pitch at-bat, which helped St. Paul's tie the game at two in the bottom of the eighth.

A wild pitch gave Choate Rosemary Hall the lead, 3-2, in the top of the ninth.

Jade Hill singled, which helped St. Paul's tie the game at three in the bottom of the ninth.

Heather Cotter earned the win for St. Paul's. The pitcher surrendered five hits and one run over nine innings, striking out eight and walking four. N Draghi took the loss for Choate Rosemary Hall. The starting pitcher went eight and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs on eight hits, striking out 18 and walking three.

Dakota Martinez, Dorothy Ricard, and Barbossa each collected two hits for St. Paul's. Barbossa and Hill each drove in one run for St. Paul's. Cotter and Hill each stole multiple bases for St. Paul's. St. Paul's stole four bases in the game.

Leadoff hitter M Swanson led Choate Rosemary Hall with three hits in three at bats. Swanson stole two bases. Choate Rosemary Hall had patience at the plate, piling up four walks for the game.
