St. Paul's Tops Brooks Behind Strong Pitching and Timely Hitting

St. Paul's earned a 5-1 victory over Brooks on Monday at TBD, powered by a solid outing from Heather Cotter and clutch performances at the plate.

Jade Hill put St. Paul's on the board in the third inning with an RBI single, setting the tone for the offense.

Cotter picked up the win, going the distance and allowing just four hits and one run over seven innings. She struck out eight and walked three. Brooks' Giordano also went the full seven innings, giving up eight hits and five runs—only one of them earned—while striking out 11 and walking one.

Charlotte Voge led the offense from the heart of the lineup, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Hill had a standout day at the plate as well, finishing 3-for-4. Dorothy Ricard added two stolen bases, helping St. Paul's swipe four bases total in the game.

Defensively, St. Paul's played cleanly with no errors and turned a double play. Violet Eaton anchored the defense with nine plays in the field.

Matola paced Brooks with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate.

St. Paul's will return to action on Wednesday with a matchup against Brewster Academy.
