At Ma Pool, Saturday, the girls and boys teams started the high energy meet against Milton with team record breaking performances in the 200 Medley Relay. The girls (Alison Min,
Jennifer Yung-Coak, Jacqueline Pan, and
Claire Huang) took second, clocking in at 2:08.13, while the boys (Nico Davalos,
Jayden Cheng,
Andy Huffer, and
Tyler Jefferson) edged out Milton for the win with a 1:53.06. Other highlights included both
Marielle Kothari setting a pool record in 1-meter diving with a score of 246.15 and multiple other team records set by
Andy Huffer in the 100 fly (1:03.07) while notching first place; Alison Min in the 100 free (1:03.49) taking second behind Milton; co-captain Jacqueline Pan in the 100 backstroke (1:12.57); Nico Davalos in the 100 backstroke (1:10.02);
Jennifer Yung-Coak in the 100 breast (1:22.03) and the girls 400 Free Relay with
Samantha Li, Jacqueline Pan,
Claire Huang, and Alison Mi posted a 4:27.84, breaking the school record by almost 8 seconds.
Final scores were Milton girls (181) to SPS girls (96) and Milton boys (96) to SPS boys (95). The team looks forward to next Saturday's meet at Ma Pool at 3:00 pm against Austin Prep.
