1/10 – Hotchkiss
Big Red face Hotchkiss to start 2026
For the first match of the new year, the St. Paul's School Boys Varsity Squash team traveled to Lakeville Connecticut to play the #1 ranked team in New England, Hotchkiss. During the match, the Big Red pushed their opponents from Hotchkiss at each spot in the ladder, however, the Bearcats were able to secure an overall 7 – 0 victory. The St. Paul's Squash players demonstrated an impressive level of grit and defensive squash against the highly skilled Hotchkiss players, elongating points and forcing the Bearcats to be inch perfect in their attacks. Fifth Former Ryan Wu stepped up due to sickness to play in the #1 position, and his effort exemplified the fight that the Big Red brought throughout the ladder. After this match against a top New England team, the Big Red will quickly shift their attention to a pair of home matches next week, starting with a Wednesday afternoon tilt verses the Big Red of Exeter.
