St. Paul's came away with a 1-0 victory in front of a larger-than-normal crowd over the Penguins from Cushing Academy on our Family Weekend. Alex Gallien filled in admirably for our injured keeper and earned the clean sheet in his first-ever game in the net. Gallien displayed courage, aggressiveness, and instinct in making several key saves that kept Cushing off the board. The lone goal of the game came on a through ball from Chris Tong to the speedy
Luca Walter who slashed through the backline to bury the game winner. Strong play on the back line from Hal Johnson,
William Birks, Enoch Huang, and
Noah Ivanov kept the Penguins at bay, while the midfield was dominated by
Bo Williams, Jack Rubiralta-Kunze, Felipe Gonzales, Bo Bauta, and Tong.
Jackson Sung,
Tristan Ho, Ben Clary, and
Kwame Ackah kept up the pressure and were dangerous inside the opponents' box. After a long layoff, the Big Red return to action next week on the road at New Hampton for another Lakes Region league match.
