On a clear, warm, fall day, The Big Red hosted the Hornets of Proctor. After a fun and relaxing Family Weekend, the Big Red played with good energy and intensity throughout the game. SPS's attack pushed hard from the get-go and dominated for most of the first quarter. While Proctor's defense held off the Big Red for a while,
Emerson Bentley completed a pass to Nel Peter, who passed it up to
Cassia de Vink who found the back of the net to put SPS ahead 1-0. In the second quarter, the Big Red scoring continued when Char Ward put one past Proctor's keeper. The second half saw more back and forth play between the two teams. SPS defense stepped up and made some great tackles, and Claire Lee would score in the third quarter after a rebound from Liv Marchand's shot to put The Big Red up 3-0. Proctor had some good attacks in the third and fourth quarters, including one drive that resulted in a Proctor goal off of a corner. Later in the fourth quarter, with 5.6 seconds left on the clock, Peter scored after a beautiful passes from Bentley and Marchand. SPS clutched the victory with a 4-1 final score.
