The St. Paul's School Boys junior varsity soccer team came home with their second victory in as many days, this time with a 3-1 victory over Dexter Southfield School. The Big Red jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind goals from
Luca Walter and Chris Tong. Tong started the scoring on a beautiful strike from 25 yards out that went bar down.
Kwame Ackah was there on the doorstep to be sure it was a goal. Walter kept up the scoring with a left-footed volley on a long feed from
Jackson Sung. Dexter would not go down without a fight, however, as they pulled the game to within a goal by halftime on a defensive breakdown in front of the goal. The Big Red buckled down and dominated possession in the second half with strong play in the midfield by
Bo Williams, Tong, and Sung. Ben Clary,
Tristan Ho, and Alex Gallien made their presence felt with pressure and dangerous runs into the opposing backfield, but it was
Peter Kelly who put the game out of reach on a through ball from Walter. The Big Red wrap up their final week of the season with two Lakes Region contests beginning with the undefeated Wildcats from Vermont Academy on Wednesday.
