The Upcoming Winter Holiday Tournament Adventure at St. Paul's
As the holiday season approaches, this year's winter athletic tournaments heat up and promise to deliver unforgettable moments of skill, teamwork, and fierce competition. For athletes, coaches, and fans alike, the countdown to December 19 is underway. Across campus, teams are packing, having their final practices, and preparing to represent St. Paul's on some of the biggest stages in high school athletics.
Thursday, December 19
The action begins with two marquee matchups. At 7:00 PM, the Boys Varsity Hockey team will hit the ice at the prestigious Avon Christmas Classic, taking on Trinity-Pawling in their opening game. Meanwhile, at 5:00 PM, the Girls Varsity Basketball team will tip off their Deerfield Christmas Tournament journey against the host team, Deerfield Academy. Both teams are eager to start their tournaments strong, knowing that these early games set the tone for what promises to be a thrilling weekend.
Friday, December 20
Friday's lineup is packed with opportunities for St. Paul's teams to shine. The Girls Varsity Basketball team will face Lawrenceville at 10:00 AM, followed by a matchup against BBN at 2:00 PM. Over at the Avon Christmas Classic, the Boys Varsity Hockey team takes on Tabor at 11:00 AM, gearing up for another showdown against the host school, Avon, at 9:00 PM.
Then the Girls Varsity Hockey team will make their debut at the Harrington Tournament, facing BBN at 11:00 AM at Milton. As evening falls, the Boys Varsity Basketball team will step onto the court at the Class A Showcase, taking on Choate at 6:00 PM. Girls hockey continues their tournament with a 7:30pm game vs St. Mark's @ Milton
With games running back-to-back, it's a full day of excitement for players and fans alike.
Saturday, December 21
Saturday the action continues with competitions intensifying across venues. The St. Paul's wrestlers will be at the Beast of the East Tournament, a grueling two-day event where they'll test their strength against some of the toughest opponents in the region.
At the Avon Christmas Classic, the Boys Varsity Hockey team will compete in final game, their opponent to be determined by Friday's results. The Boys Varsity Basketball team will also return to the Class A Showcase, facing Taft at 11:00 AM. Later in the day, at 2:30 PM, the Girls Varsity Hockey team will battle Milton in their second Harrington Tournament game.
Sunday, December 22
As the tournaments conclude, Sunday is the final showdown with Wrestlers continuing their quest at the Beast of the East Tournament, while the Girls Varsity Hockey team will play their final Harrington Tournament game, the opponent to be announced.
By the end of the weekend, the efforts of every St. Paul's athlete will stand as a testament to the dedication and spirit that define the school's athletics program.
