The Big Red opened Saturday's game hot, with a three-pointer from
Justin Huang and a dunk from
Treyvon Miller—both assisted by
Mekhi Simmons. From there, the game went back and forth building to a 14-14 tie midway through the first half. SPS finished the half on a 16-6 run thanks to two three-pointers from
Teigan Pelletier and eight more points inside from
Treyvon Miller. In the second half, the tide turned—with Hotchkiss getting to the hoop at will and capitalizing on St. Paul's turnovers. Hotchkiss swung their own lead up to 10 points, and though the Big Red fought to narrow it to 3 in the last few minutes, SPS could not come out on top. In the loss,
