The Big Red closed the month of January in decisive fashion on Friday night with a win over Groton, making it seven victories in a row. Thanks to staunch defense early, SPS came out to a 10-0 lead, with layups from
Treyvon Miller,
Patrick Ricca, and
Mekhi Simmons. From there, St. Paul's never looked back, building the lead to 41-13 at the half. In the second half, SPS saw great contributions from every active player as the Pelicans closed out the Zebras.
Borja Hernandez scored his first varsity buckets with a mid-range jumper and a three-pointer.
Raymond Farmer scored his first varsity basket as well, with a layup (and a few excellent assists).
Quintin Eason had the best game of his young career with 14 points and six rebounds.
Treyvon Miller finished with 15 points.
Landon Clark stuffed the stat sheet with 6 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists. And
Patrick Ricca had 12 points and 3 assists.
