Avon Old Farms Christmas Classic
Avon, Connecticut
In game two of the Avon Old Farms Christmas Classic, the "Big Red" lost to the host school by a score of three-to-one. The scoring in the game this morning was similar to the "Big Red's" previous contest against the Tabor Academy "Seawolves". The "Winged Beavers" scored the lone goal of the first half, ten minutes into play. The "Big Red" then evened the score five minutes into the second half when Anderson Kilbourne '26 fired a shot past the Avon Old Farms School "Winged Beaver" netminder from the right face-off dot when captain, Harry Dermody '26 broke up an Avon Old Farms break-out pass in the high slot; Fin Kilbourne '27 collected the loose puck to make a nifty pass to his brother to tie the game at one. Six minutes later, Avon took the lead for good when they scored on the power-play and then scored their third and final goal thirty-six seconds later in even-strength play. The "Big Red" skated furiously to try and score a second goal, but the Avon defense stood tall.
The St. Paul's School "Big Red" skaters will play game three of the four-game tournament at 7:00 pm against the Kent School "Lions".
