SPS opened the season with a decisive victory over Belmont Hill. Though the game was tight in the early going at 9-9, the Big Red finished the first half on a 24-5 run, thanks in large part to stifling defense and relentless rebounding. In the second half, St. Paul's remained consistent and held onto the lead right through the finish. In the win, Mekhi Simmons scored a game-high 15 points. Trey Miller added 13 points and 8 rebounds. Patrick Ricca finished with 12 points, and Quintin Eason scored 6 points while grabbing a dominant 14 rebounds.
