Â
St. Paul's School boys varsity hockey team played its first home game of the 2025 - 2026 varsity season against the Tilton School "Rams" last night in the Hockey Center on Gordon Rink. The two teams played at a furious pace, and the game was tightly contested throughout the full fifty-four minutes of play, with neither team scoring in the first thirty-six minutes. Sixth Form Captain,
Harry Dermody '26, scored the game-winning goal on the power play at five minutes and twenty-eight seconds into the third period when he banged home a rebound from Assistant Captain, defenseman,
Quinn Brandell's '26 shot from the left point.
Callum Green '27 sealed the victory for the "Big Red" with one minute and nine seconds left in regulation when he beat the Tilton defender from a full-ice clearing shot from Fin Kilbourne '27.
Blake Truchon, Assistant Captain and goalie, stopped all twenty-three Tilton School shots, making big saves on several key grade "A" scoring opportunities to secure the shutout. The "Big Red" will play again on Wednesday, December 10th, at Vermont Academy at 4:30 pm for another Lakes Region Hockey Conference match-up.
