SPS played a great game at home on Saturday, February 23
rd. Both teams came out hard, and SPS was looking for revenge from their recent loss to Exeter. SPS battled, but Exeter struck first and took a 1-0 lead after the first period. The Big Red was resilient, and evened up the score in the second period.
Maude Niemann scored SPS's first goal of the game from a pass by
Chelsea Bell. The two teams proved to be evenly matched, and regulation ended 1-1. St. Paul's took a penalty a few seconds into OT, and they successfully killed off a 2 minute penalty kill thanks to
Paige MacPhee's excellent goaltending. As the clock wound down, SPS entered the Exeter zone on a 3v1.
Tess Mulkerron picked up the puck
Madeline Allen from the corner, walked in, and scored the game winning goal with 11 seconds left in OT. SPS won 2-1!
