On March 1
st, in the 5th place game, and the final contest of the 2024-2025 St. Paul's School boys varsity hockey season, the "Big Red" fell to the Proctor Academy "Hornets" in overtime by a score of 4-3 at the Teddy Maloney rink in Andover, New Hampshire. The two teams traded goals in the first period of play.
Anderson Kilbourne '26 (Duxbury, MA) scored the "Big Red's" first goal of the game when he knocked home a
Mitchell Smith '27 (Thunder Bay, ON) rebound. In the second period, St. Paul's scored two goals to take a 3-2 lead into the last eighteen minutes of play. Sixth Former
Michael O'Brien '25 (Bedford, NS) tallied the second goal for the Millville skaters when
Anderson Kilbourne took a shot from the left elbow on the power play and the puck rebounded off Proctor Academy's goal leg pad and caromed off of O'Brien's skate into the back of the net. St. Paul's School's third and last goal of the season was arguably one of the prettiest goals all year.
Ryan Vohra '27 (Valley, NS) collected a puck on the left neutral zone wall and moved it up to his brother,
Matt Vohra '25 (Valley, NS), just ahead of him. The Sixth Form captain, Vohra, skated it across the left side of the Proctor blue line to the top of the circles and then zipped a hard pass to a streaking
Quinn Brandell '26 (Plattsburgh, NY) on the right side of the rink. Brandell, a left shot, skating down the right side of the rink, caught Vohra's pass in one motion at the top of the right face-off circle and wired a shot to the short side upper corner to give the "Big Red" a 3-2 lead at the end of the second period. The home team was opportunistic, and they found a way to tie the game up midway through the third period and then close out the victory on the first shift of overtime.
