The SPS T&F teams traveled to Andover for our first meet of the season on April 16th. The weather conditions were challenging, with temperatures under 40 degrees and high winds. Despite the challenges, both teams showed great resilience and scored in several events:
Boys: 4x100, 100, 1500, 200, 4x400, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Shotput, Discus, Javelin
Girls: 1500, 800, 3000, Shotput, Discus, Javelin
Notable performances include Andrew Carroll's victory in the 1500m, Mack Barrette setting PRs in the 3000m and 800m, Teigan Pelletier with a 10 foot victory in the Javelin–after placing first in both the Shot Put and High Jump–Harlem Taylor setting personal bests in the Shot Put and Discus, Dave Osunde claiming the 200m win by nearly 0.5 seconds, Josh Samuel's besting 39 feet on the way to a triple jump victory, and Cami Capdevilla placing first in the Javelin after claiming second in the discus.Â
Congratulations to all members of the SPS T&F teams who competed in their first track meet! The Big Red track teams look forward to competing against Exeter, Portsmouth, and Austin Prep on Saturday, April 19th.Â
