Big Red Closes Regular Season in Style with Commanding 15–8 Win Over New Hampton
Concord, NH — St. Paul's School finished its regular season on a high note Saturday afternoon, defeating New Hampton 15–8 behind a relentless offense, dominant faceoff play, and cohesive team defense. The victory capped a statement performance that showcased the depth and precision that have defined Big Red's season.
St. Paul's wasted no time setting the tone, exploding for seven first-quarter goals fueled by crisp ball movement and fast-paced transition play. Matias Williams (#24) continued his outstanding campaign, recording 4 goals and 3 assists—including a first-half hat trick that ignited the early surge. Tommy Humphreys (#31) was a key catalyst from midfield, adding 2 goals and 2 assists as SPS built an early cushion and maintained momentum throughout.
At the X, Bryan Folsom (#4) turned in a masterclass performance, winning 22 of 25 draws (88%) to give Big Red near-total control of possession. His work fueled 68 total offensive possessions and allowed SPS to dictate tempo all afternoon. That advantage translated into 46 total shots and consistent offensive rhythm, as the Big Red wore down New Hampton's defense with sustained pressure.
SPS once again demonstrated its hallmark offensive balance. Quinton Delorey (#19) and Carter Doherty (#9) each netted multiple goals—Delorey finishing with 4 and Doherty adding 2—while Finian Kilbourne (#18) and William Iler (#22) contributed timely scores. In total, eight players found the back of the net and seven recorded assists, underscoring the unselfish, team-first approach that has propelled the Big Red attack all season.
Defensive Stands and Stellar Goaltending
While the offense shined, the defense and goaltending anchored the victory. Luka Clark (#11) delivered one of his best outings of the year, stopping 22 shots and coming up big in the third quarter as New Hampton pushed to close the gap. The defensive unit—organized and disciplined—forced 9 turnovers and scooped up 42 ground balls, consistently winning key hustle plays and clearing efficiently under pressure.
Looking Ahead
With the regular season now complete, St. Paul's heads into postseason play as the #1 seed in the Lakes Region League Tournament. The Big Red will host New Hampton again on Wednesday, May 14, at 6:30 p.m., aiming to build on their momentum and carry their dominant form into the championship chase.
