SPS Beats New Hampton to Wrap Up Lakes Region Season

The Big Red of St. Paul's School capped off a strong performance with a dominant 15-8 victory over New Hampton on Saturday afternoon, showcasing offensive depth, faceoff dominance, and solid team defense in their final regular-season matchup.

First Half Fireworks
SPS came out firing, pouring in 7 goals in the first quarter behind sharp ball movement and quick-strike transition play. Tommy Humphreys added two goals and two assists, giving the Big Red additional firepower from midfield.

Faceoff Domination
The key to SPS's offensive rhythm was their overwhelming success at the faceoff X. That translated to 68 total possessions and a 55.6% possession share, fueling their 46-shot offensive output.

Balanced Scoring & Strong Possession Play
Quinton Delorey and Carter Doherty each added multi-goal performances, tallying 4 and 2 goals respectively, while Finian Kilbourne and William Iler chipped in timely scores to keep the pressure on New Hampton. In total, eight different players recorded goals and seven different players tallied assists, highlighting the depth and selfless play of the SPS offense.

Defensive Stands & Goaltending
While SPS's offense was clicking, their defense and goaltending helped control the pace. Luka Clark stood tall in net, turning away 22 shots and making several key stops in the third quarter as New Hampton tried to rally. The defense forced 9 turnovers and collected 42 ground balls, winning the hustle plays that mattered.
