The SPS Big Red competed against the Proctor Hornets on Wednesday, September 24 with a 5-1 win to close out the rainy and wet fall afternoon. Senior captain Louisa Gosk secured the first goal with effective breakaway passes from Maisie Hayne and Daisy Singer. Lily Chibnik closed out the first quarter with the Pelicans' second goal while the offensive partnership of Cassia de Vink and Kay Sumilas worked together to put Big Red up 3-0. Goalie Brooke Paquette, who only put on the goalie uniform two days prior, was a force on defense, shutting off several opportunities the Hornets had off of penalty corners. Charlotte Ward and Callie Fortin also remained a strong defensive pairing throughout the game. Captain Clare Lee and Third Former Rosie Diamond also had stellar performances all around. The final two goals came from a penalty corner and strong offensive play during the final two quarters. SPS takes on Proctor again in a week-and-a-half with the squad traveling up to Andover, NH.
