On September 28, St. Paul's School made its annual trip to Gill, Massachusetts for the Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) Invitational along with runners from Eaglebrook, Four Rivers, Keene, Vermont Academy, Winchendon, and of course the hosting NMH. The St. Paul's harriers continued to demonstrate strong fitness bases and racing fundamentals by packing together well through the course's rolling first kilometer and into the subsequent wooded section, which is even more challenging. As competitors emerged from the woods for the last K, Keene and St. Paul's had runners clustered together and set up in a neck and neck battle for first-place team. St. Paul's would end up second in a nailbiter but gain essential experience from the day. Depth on the JV side and leadership from Sixth Formers
Luca Bocresion,
Kyle Gump, and
Rhys Henrikson gave St. Paul's a team victory in that event despite a trio of fast Keene runners up top.
Top three varsity teams: Keene 30, St. Paul's School 32, NMH 72
Top three JV teams: St. Paul's School 31, Keene 43, NMH 59
St. Paul's School next hosts Deerfield Academy for a dual meet on Saturday, October 4.
