The Big Red hopped a Concord Coach Sat. morning to head to the Hotchkiss School with 5 other St. Paul's teams for the 2
nd Annual Hotchkiss Day. The squad got off the bus and had the chance to cheer on some of their classmates playing squash, basketball and hockey before taking to the ice. The game would be a wide-open affair for the Big Red with seven different players finding the back of the net on the afternoon.
Erin Flaherty led the group with three goals, while
Tess Mulkerron and
Madeline Allen each chipped in a pair. Singletons were scored by
Maggie Berleth,
Madelyn Humber,
Grace White and
Alexis Rodriguez. The Bearcats scored a pair of power play goals and an even strength goal early in the third period to make it a 5 – 3 game, but the Big Red upped the tempo and scored six unanswered goals in the final fifteen minutes.
Julia Alessandro backstopped the win for SPS with numerous excellent stops and consistent rebound control.
This Wednesday the Big Red heads to Brookline, MA to take on the Dexter-Southfield School – a talented side which will bring out the best in SPS.
Go Big Red!
