SPS came out on fire after their three-week holiday break.
Chelsea Bell opened the scoring on the second shift of the game and the Big Red never looked back. Seven more unanswered goals followed with SPS putting constant pressure on the Wildcats net. In addition to Bell, the lamp was lit by
Erin Flaherty (2),
Charlotte Cohen (2),
Madeline Allen,
Maealie Glanzer and
Madelyn Humber.
The wide-open offense created a few defensive lapses that were confidently shored up by the strong play of goaltender
Julia Alessandro. Consistent play and the building of good habits in both ends of the ice will be the keys for the Big Red to be successful in the weeks ahead.
The Big Red takes on a pair of Eight Schools opponents this weekend when they host The Lawrenceville School (the third Big Red) on Friday at 4:30 and then travel to Lakeville, CT and the Hotchkiss School on Saturday afternoon. Hope to see you there.
Go Big Red!
