St. Paul's hosted Phillips Exeter on Wednesday for a big matchup in NEPSAC Class A, with both teams entering the contest at 12-5. In the early stages, Exeter built a 7-point lead in the first half, but thanks to three-pointers by
Jake Reardon and
Tighe Arache, St. Paul's came back quickly. A big first half inside and out from
Treyvon Miller helped SPS go into halftime up 30-28. The second half was a different story, however, as St. Paul's struggled to find a rhythm on offense and Phillips Exeter got hot behind the arc and earned consistent trips to the free throw line—allowing PEA to build a double-digit lead and hold onto the win. In the loss for St. Paul's,
Treyvon Miller finished with 17 points and 7 rebounds,
Jake Reardon added 12 points and 4 assists,
Quintin Eason scored 9,
Patrick Ricca added 8 points and 5 assists, and
Mekhi Simmons finished with 6 points and 6 assists. After the long weekend, St. Paul's will back fired up to take on New Hampton School in our final Lakes Region matchup of the season.
