SPS 1 – New Hampton School 3
February 4, 2026
Jacobson Arena
New Hampton, New Hampshire
The St. Paul's School varsity boys hockey team traveled north to take on Lakes Region opponent the New Hampton School "Huskies," and suffered a three-to-one loss to the host school. The "Big Red" jumped on the board early when Sixth Form captain
Harry Dermody '26 caused a "Husky" turnover.
Mitchell Smith '27 pounced on the loose puck, skated in all alone on the New Hampton netminder, and beat him with a shot to the upper right corner of the net. The "Huskies" responded with a goal of their own five minutes later, and the first period ended in a one-one tie.
New Hampton would score two goals in the second period to take a three-to-one lead into the locker room after thirty-six minutes of play. Despite outshooting the home team thirty-six to thirty, the "Big Red" were unable to score a second goal and apply real pressure on New Hampton's "team defense."
St. Paul's School goaltender assistant captain,
Blake Truchon '26, suffered the loss for the visitors, stopping twenty-seven of thirty New Hampton School shots.
The two teams will play one another again on Friday, February 6, in the Hockey Center on Gordon Rink at 2:45 pm.
