Andover challenged SPS Varsity Field Hockey to a game this Friday in the Andover stadium. The reigning New England champions set a fast and intense tone for the match, and SPS was up to the challenge. Ultimately suffering a heavy 0-8 defeat, SPS let in 7 out of 8 goals on short corner penalties against the very best shooters they'll face all season. Quick and powerful, Andover peppered SPS with heavy pressure in the circle and their excellent skill rewarded them. However, the SPS athletes never let up and played an excellent game of field hockey, often stuffing the Andover offense and possessing the ball smartly.
