St. Paul's School (SPS) boys cross country traveled on October 11 to race at Phillips Academy Andover (PAA) along with Austin Preparatory School (APS) and Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH). Starting a limited roster to rest runners, SPS needed to enter the afternoon ready to build competition experience against formidable opponents and ahead of returning to PAA in a few weeks for a late-season invitational. At both the first- and second-mile markers, the middle of the SPS roster showed their mid-season experience and battled maturely with their competition, particularly at the course's nadir after the second mile and heading up its "heartbreak hill," where both captains
Andrew Carroll '25 and
Ian Chang '25 surged past nearby opponents.
Even after coming from Deerfield Academy's fast course the previous week, eight SPS runners set personal bests on the day:
Thomas Armstrong '26,
Luca Bocresion '26,
Ian Chang '25, Steve Ding '26,
Jonah Farkas '27,
Rhys Henrikson '26,
Aaron Kimiri '27, and Wrenn Ragsdale '26.Â
Dual scores: SPS 45 PAA 18, SPS 32 NMH 23, SPS 15 APS 50
SPS will stay local next week and compete at the Capital Area Invitational on October 17th and then at home against Phillips Exeter Academy on October 19th.
