The Big Red travelled north to the Holderness School on a very fall like, chilly Wednesday afternoon. SPS got off to a positive start as less than three minutes into the game as
Peter Magyar '28 and
Alexander de Burgh Codrington '28 combined nicely to get the ball to Will Iller '26 at the top of the box who then one touched the ball back to de Burgh Codrington who opened space for himself and then bent a cleanly struck ball inside the far post. 1 – nil! This did wake up the Bulls and they began to possess the ball for a good piece of time. The SPS defense was strong in clearing all dangerous balls and limited the chances on goal. With under two minutes to play in the half,
Asun Zhu '26 deftly slid a through ball between the Holderness defense to
Evers Saleeby '27. Saleeby drew the Bull defenders in close and cut the ball to his left and then struck a ball that clipped the bottom of the bar and settled in the back of the net; a good ending to the half for the Big Red.
In the second half, SPS did a better job possessing the ball and using their flanks. This created more scoring opportunities.
Samson Nguyen '25 had a nice volley from the penalty spot. Iller had a header from a corner that was cleared just off the line. Pat Cooley '25 forced the keeper to make a great save. Pat Ricca '26 received a ball from
Nolan Chen '28 in a good space only to be stymied by the Bulls keeper. No more goals would be scored by either team and
Leo Colinet '27 would earn the clean sheet in the SPS net.
