On a damp and cool day, SPS hosted the Lakes Region Championship. SPS came away with a victory on the day and for the season against Lakes Region schools. Aedyn Kourakos led the Pelicans with Brooks Boyd, Mack Barrette, Olivia Blanchard and Milly Kirkman joining her in the top 10. Senior runners, Olivia Blanchard, Milly Kirkman, Ali Cabot, Gabriella Huerta, Lily McKee and Lila Paterson raced, or helped out, in their final home race on the SPS course. The Pelicans will now turn their focus to the NEPSAC race on November 9th at Hotchkiss.Â
Holderness School took 2nd place with a score of 31, led by freshman Sofie Romasko in 8th. Her senior teammate Rio Gladchun and junior Marlena Maleska followed closely in 11th and 12th. Kimball Union Academy's standout performance came from sophomore Isabelle Lebreton, who won the race outright, helping her team to a 3rd-place finish with a score of 36.
The race also saw competitive efforts from Dublin School and Proctor Academy, who tied with a score of 46, placing them 4th and 5th respectively. Dublin's Morgan Rash finished 9th, while Proctor's Catherine Vierzen took 6th. Brewster Academy and New Hampton School rounded out the standings, with senior Lizzie Hall of Brewster leading her team with a 4th-place finish and New Hampton's Sol Andersen pacing her team in 16th.
With excellent individual and team performances, St. Paul's School's victory reflects their strength and commitment, marking another successful step in their cross country season.
