SPSGXC left it all on the course yesterday, and both JV and Varsity earned their best team finishes in twelve years, taking home third place in each race!
The Varsity girls were up first on a hilly, wet course. In the opening mile, senior Aedyn Kourakos committed to an aggressive race, leading the chase pack. Freshman C.C. Goss and junior Brooks Boyd followed closely, with seniors Mack Barrette and Clara Tcherepnin, junior Allison Min, and freshman Minnow Brown forming a tight pack behind them. By the second lap, SPS runners had spread out slightly. Aedyn continued to push the pace at the front, racing alongside two Andover and two Exeter athletes. C.C. and Brooks held steady together in the next pack, while Mack worked hard to close the gap. Clara, Allison, and Minnow spread out but stayed focused on picking off competitors. With 150 meters to go, Aedyn outsprinted both Exeter runners to finish 4th overall. Brooks and C.C. came in next, still together, with Brooks surging into a top-20 finish in the final stretch. Mack was the fourth SPS runner across the line, followed closely by Clara and Allison. Minnow capped off her rookie season with a determined, gritty effort.

Inspired by Varsity's performance, the JV squad lined up next. From the gun, Rita Krenkel, MJ Williams-Bello, Patalie Viprakasit, Lu Rodriguez, and Sophia Zhang formed a strong pack at the front. Katie Ragsdale and Cameron Quinlan followed, with Lily Campbell, Jenny Li, Seraphine Yim, Maddie Morse, and Poppy Hamilton rounding out the team. On the second lap, Lu surged ahead of the SPS pack and earned a top-20 finish, with MJ close behind and also inside the top 20. Sophia and Rita finished 23rd and 26th. Katie crossed next with a strong kick, followed by Cameron, who ran a PR. Patalie and Jenny (also in a PR) came through next, and Lily, Maddie, Seraphine, and Poppy closed out the day for SPS.
