The boys varsity lax team lost a close see-saw battle down at the Dexter on Wednesday afternoon and the team falls to 3-4 on the season. The game was action packed with numerous lead changes throughout.
The Big Red got off to a good start and took the lead 7-2 after one period of play. Dexter battled back and made it 9-8 and closed the SPS lead to one goal by half time. SPS surged ahead in the third quarter and went up 12-8 before Dexter slowly chipped away at the lead. The fourth quarter saw Dexter go up 15-13 with less than a minute and half to play. SPS was able to score twice in the remaining seconds with Tommy Humphries scoring our 15
th goal with 18 seconds to go in the game and tying it up at 15-15.
St. Paul's lost the opening face off in OT but the defense held strong, giving our offense another chance. Unfortunately, the Big Red was unable to score and Dexter came back on an unsettled situation and won the game in OT.
The Big Red looks to recoup and regroup with Pingree coming to town on Saturday.
