The boys varsity lost an away match up to the Holderness Bulls by a score of 11-1 on a cool but snow free Saturday afternoon.
Holderness jumped out to an early lead scoring three goals take the lead in the first period. In quarter two, Holderness came out firing and scored two more to start the second before St. Paul's responded with a nice feed from Tommy Humphries to
Jackson Ezgar who finished with a great shot from the top of the crease. Holderness added one more before the intermission and the game went into half-time with the big red down by a score of 6-1.
In the second half, the Pelican defense fought valiantly but a relentless Holderness offense was able to add five more goals over the course of the remainder of the game as the St. Paul's offense struggled to find a rhythm.
AJ True was huge in net with 23 saves on the day--a 67% save percentage.Â
The final for the contest was Holderness 11 and SPS 1. The boys look to a busy week ahead with Brewster, Tilton and Pomfret on the schedule in the next 6 days.
