SPS GXC had an eventful day at the Manchester Invitation on Saturday. Bringing along our 12 fastest runners, we saw seven varsity runners and five JV compete at one of the biggest, and most historic races in New Hampshire. The JV kicked the day off. They competed against 16 schools and 162 girls. Marjorie Bello-Williams led the JV team and finished in the top 35 and was followed closely behind by
Clara Tcherepnin and Sophia Zhang. Maddie Morse and
Lily Campbell made a strong pack and worked together for the first two miles before separating in the final stretch. The JV girls finished in 10
th overall. With the rain picking up, the varsity girls took off at noon.
Aedyn Kourakos went out quickly and soon found herself in the top 5 within the first half mile. She was followed by Mack Barrette and Liv Blanchard who worked together on the grueling middle mile. The remaining 4 runners,
Patalie Viprakasit, Ali Cabot, Brooks Boyd, and
Bela Friedman worked together for the entirety of the race. Aedyn finished in 9
th overall, followed by Brooks Boyd in a season's best time, Liv Blanchard, Mack Barrette and
Bela Friedman all within 7 places of each other. Their team performance earned then a second place finish overall.
