The Big Red played some great field hockey throughout their game against Proctor! The drive for the first goal started when
Louisa Gosk knocked the ball in the cage, cleaning up after
Marina Kane's initial shot on goal. In the second quarter,
Cassia de Vink fired the ball into the net from the stroke area during the second quarter. Later that same quarter, Cassia tipped the ball into the cage after an initial hit by
Emerson Bentley. The Pelicans stayed on the attack in the third quarter when
Lily Chibnik slapped the ball into the cage after a scramble during a corner.
Proctor gave SPS a good fight for the remainder of the game with some solid passing and ball control. This is as close as they would get, however, as the Big Red defense protected their goal against a few Proctor attacks. In the fourth quarter, Nel Peter secured the victory for the Big Red when she tipped in a hard hit by
Daisy Singer who received a ball from the strong defense of Kay Sumilas. The Big Red looks forward to their next game against Northfield Mount Hermon School this Saturday.
