Girls Cross Country

SPS Girls XC Finish 2nd at NMH Invitational

The SPS girls' varsity cross-country team traveled to Gill, MA, to compete in the Northfield Mount Hermon Invitational on September 28, 2024. In a highly competitive field, SPS showcased impressive performances, finishing in 2nd place overall with a team score of 49 points, just behind Loomis, who captured the team title with 28 points.

SPS was led by Aedyn Kourakos, who had a stellar run, finishing 2nd overall with a time of 20:35. Kourakos stayed in contention throughout the race, pacing herself expertly to secure a top spot. Bela Friedman followed closely, finishing 8th with a time of 22:13, keeping SPS competitive with her strong effort. Brooks Boyd (11th, 22:25), Mack Barrette (13th, 22:44), and Ali Cabot (15th, 23:00) rounded out the scoring for the Big Red, solidifying their 2nd-place finish.

Loomis dominated the event with three runners placing in the top 5, led by Natalie Crocker's winning time of 19:56. Cushing placed 3rd with 86 points, with standout performances from Candace Maple (4th, 20:46) and Olivia Richard (6th, 21:49).

Overall, St. Paul's demonstrated excellent depth and resilience. With strong individual performances from their top five runners and solid support from Patalie Viprakasit (18th, 23:37) and Clara Tcherepnin (23rd, 24:15), the team remains a formidable contender moving forward this season.

The SPS girls will look to build on this strong performance in their upcoming meets as they continue to push for top finishes this fall.
