St. Paul's School wrestling team put on an impressive display of skill and dominance, securing a resounding 74-6 victory over The Hotchkiss School in their latest dual meet.
The match began with a forfeit at 106 pounds, where Maddie Morse earned a quick 6-0 lead for St. Paul's.
Markus Lu (113) quickly followed with a dominant pin over Olivia Kwon of Hotchkiss in just 1:14, pushing the SPS lead to 12-0.
Brendan Ginty (120) then won a tightly contested match, defeating Anya Reppa by a 17-13 decision, further extending the St. Paul's advantage to 15-0.
At 126 pounds,
Ciaran O'Reilly earned a fall over Ryan Lee in just 1:00, increasing the lead to 21-0. St. Paul's continued to roll with another forfeit win at 132 pounds for
Ian Chang, bringing the score to 27-0. Charlie Lussier (138) then sealed a quick victory, pinning Henry Rowe of Hotchkiss in just 0:34, making it 33-0.
Hotchkiss earned their only win of the match at 144 pounds, where Ihsan Yumak pinned Chris Chabla of St. Paul's in 0:49, cutting the lead to 33-6. However, that was the last bright spot for Hotchkiss, as St. Paul's resumed their dominance.
Finn Merell (150) earned a fall over Nouri Badrous in 6:17, and
Bo Williams (157) was awarded a forfeit win, extending the St. Paul's lead to 45-6.
The upper weights were all St. Paul's as well.
Tristan Ho (165) pinned Geraldo Moran in 1:38, Alex High (175) followed with a fall over Andrew Lee in 1:39, and
Rhys Henrikson (190) sealed a 19-3 tech fall victory over Cayden Kim, making it 62-6. Mike Seward (215) added another fall in just 0:53, and Josh Kim (285) finished the match with a fall over Michael Matte in 4:42, bringing the final score to 74-6.
