Boys JV Soccer 4-1 Brooks

The St. Paul's Boys Junior Varsity team emerged victorious over Brooks School by a score of 4-1. After a scoreless first half highlighted by strong defensive play from the back line of Colin Campbell, Jehyeong Suh, Jeet Ghosh, and Alex Gallien, the Big Red poured in four goals in the final 40 minutes of play. Alex Gallien was the first to break through and end the stalemate with a thunderous free kick thirty yards from goal. Nick Patterson continued the scoring with his own beautifully struck ball from outside of the box that proved to be beyond the reach of the Brooks keeper. Luca Walter, who was a thorn in the side of the Brooks defenders all game, earned himself and converted on a pivotal penalty shot after Brooks had trimmed their deficit to a lone goal. The fourth goal came from Francesc Rubiralta pressuring the Brooks Keeper and getting the ball over the line in the final seconds. No Big Red player was more influential on the outcome of the game than goalkeeper Aarav Mehta, whose only conceded goal came on a penalty shot in the second half. The Big Red travel to Tilton School on Saturday where they begin the defense of their Lakes Region title.
